Farewell Jady

12/01/96 – 7/01/09

Jady was from Ch. Kilifi Pride & Joy of Macanne FQ NHR (Tess) and Ch. Shennery Dickens FQ NHR (Codders). From her litter, four puppies were shown and worked in the field. She was beautiful and had the sweetest nature. She was a wonderful mother to three litters of puppies and loved to help look after puppies from our other bitches, in fact at times tried to hijack their litters.

As a puppy she drove us up the wall, she used to chew the heads off the sprinklers in the garden and we could never catch her doing it. Fortunately she eventually grew out of that.

She did fairly well in the show ring in spite of not really enjoying it. She would rather have been out working or training. She finished with 7 CCs, 11 RCCs & 3 Reserve Best of Breeds. She was never awarded her FQ although she competed for it twice once in Durban and once in Gauteng, where she did everything asked of her but the judge’s decision was “not well enough”.

Jady was mated the first time to Ch Redsteps Wishfulthinking and had a beautiful litter of 8 puppies. Zena Butler took a bitch, Polly (Ch. Macanne Pollyanna) and did a lot of winning with her. Her second mating was to our Robbie (Ch. Macanne Newsflash), from which litter Ronnelle Stone took a dog puppy, Bacardi (Ch. Macanne Razzmatazz). The last litter she had was with Murray (Ch Linchael Fascination of Macanne) and we kept Kelly (Ch. Macanne Uptown Girl) who has done well in the show ring.

Jady loved having visitors and would lead them or us into the house by the wrist, once in the house she would sometimes lie down, which meant ending up on one’s knees.

Jady was the softest of dogs, everyone loved her and she is sorely missed.

Farewell Jady.
